Hacker ports iOS core to Nokia N900 Posted: 23 Nov 2013 10:11 AM PST Hacker winocm, who had successfully jailbroken iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 6.1.4 previously, has now managed to port a core component of iOS, called the Darwin kernel to non-Apple devices. Touch ID patent applications reveal how Apple uses “Secure Enclave” in iPhone 5s’ A7 chip for fingerprint sensor Posted: 23 Nov 2013 09:09 AM PST A major concern with Apple’s inclusion of a fingerprint sensor in the iPhone were security concerns over storing fingerprint data, given its confidential nature. Apple put these concerns to rest when it said that the iPhone 5s doesn’t store the actual fingerprint, but only a mathematical representation of it in the new A7 chip’s “Secure Enclave” which is inaccessible by iOS or any other app running on your iPhone.
