Facebook buying WhatsApp messaging service for $16 billion Posted: 19 Feb 2014 02:16 PM PST Facebook is buying WhatsApp messaging service for $16 billion, according to a Form 8K filed with the SEC and subsequent announcements by both Facebook and WhatsApp. Facebook will pay $4 billion in cash and $12 billion in Facebook stock for the messaging company.
